Glow Recipe has joined the growing roster of brands which have raised prices in response to US President Donald Trump’s global tariff hikes.
The Korean skin care company will increase the price of its Watermelon Toner, Dew Drops and Hue Drops products by US$1 on 31 May 2025.
Glow Recipe said the rise in prices has been in response to the “continuous” rise in raw materials and shipping costs, announcing the news via an Instagram post.
“We value you so much, and want to be open with you about how supply chain and the continuing rise in raw materials and shipping costs impact us,” Glow Recipe said in the Instagram post.
“As an independently owned and female-founded brand, we are dedicated to delivering the same clinically effective products without compromising on quality or sustainability.”
Despite the incremental price increases Glow Recipe also announced a price reduction on its Plum Plump Hyaluronic Serum – going from $45 to $38 on 1 June.
Members of the brand’s Subscribe & Save program are also able to lock in the current prices on affected products before they increase for the next six months.
“We are so grateful for your continued support and want to give you the opportunity to stock up at the current prices before the change takes effect,” Glow Recipe added in the post.
The move follows Trump’s so-called ‘Liberation Day’ taxes, which came into effect in April 2025 and imposed a 10% tariff on all countries.
Brands and manufacturers are scrambling to control the situation, but the collateral of the higher levies is increased prices on beauty goods.
The Inkey List was the most recent brand to raise prices on its products in the US in the wake of the global tariff hikes.
UK beauty retailer Space NK, meanwhile, has temporarily suspended orders to the US as it navigates the tax hikes.
Procter & Gamble (P&G), the consumer goods giant behind Pampers, Olay, and Head & Shoulders, has also warned of “likely” price hikes to manage the impact of tariffs.
Luxury French brand Hermès is also set to increase prices in the US, and Swiss multinational manufacturer Givaudan has also warned of an increase in its prices in 2025.
Interparfums is planning to raise prices in the US by 6% to 7% starting 1 August as a result of the tariffs imposed on imported goods.
Shower brand Hello Klean is also feeling the pinch from the new duties, and has raised US retail prices by roughly 25%.
Swedish beauty tool brand Foreo will absorb some of the costs of the tariffs, but informed consumers to expect a 20% to 30% price increase on its goods from 22 April onwards.
US sexual wellness brand Dame has also added a $5 ‘Trump tariff surcharge’ to all its orders.
