C&T Allē Award 2026

“Rice Bran Ferment (INCI Name: Lactobacillus/Rice Bran Ferment, Phenoxyethanol)” is a cosmetic ingredient developed through a proprietary fermentation process with plant-based lactic acid bacteria, made from roasted, non-defatted rice bran. Since the product is made directly from fermented materials, it not only provides a natural, gentle cleansing effect like that of clay but also enhances moisture retention due to the lactic acid and polysaccharides produced through lactic acid fermentation. It can be described as a two-way player that both cleansing and moisturizes. Rice bran, a by-product of the rice milling process for Japan’s staple food, is often discarded in large quantities. Rice Bran Ferment, which utilizes fermented rice bran directly, is a distinctive upcycled beauty ingredient.
