Ichimaru Pharcos, (Headquarters: Motosu City, Gifu Prefecture, President: Yoshihiko Ando) joined this year’s Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients 2026 (PCHi 2026) exhibition that was held in HangZhou, China from March 18 to 20.
At the exhibition, two of our ingredients received Silver Awards at the PCHi 2026 Fountain Award, a prestigious cosmetics technology innovation award presented to companies and individuals that make significant contributions to China’s beauty and cosmetics industry.
One awardwinning product was PeoGlow (Paeonia Albiflora Root Extract), which received a Silver Award in the Whitening / Brightening category. The other was VeganProteoglycan (Soluble Proteoglycan), which received a Silver Award in the Moisturizing / Hydrating category.
Although the award was not secured, Mr. Takahashi, General Manager of our R&D Department and the developer of VeganProteoglycan, was nominated for the Outstanding Engineer Award.
PCHi Fountain Awards are given to companies and individuals who made important contributions to the beauty and cosmetic industry in China with their technology and innovation. It is presented with the purpose of appreciating and inspiring the pioneering, innovative and continuous development of leaders and individuals.
Starting with the Active Ingredient Award and Outstanding Developer Award for IZAYOI in 2017, Ichimaru Pharcos has received honors at the PCHi Fountain Award almost every year. This year’s recognition brings our total number of awards to 9th.
For the PCHi 2026 Fountain Award, a preliminary review resulted in nominations of 56 products from 46 companies, as well as 9 engineers. The Active Ingredient Award was divided into 12 categories. In the Whitening & Brightening category, five products—including PeoGlow—were shortlisted, while in the Moisturizing category, five products—including VeganProteoglycan—were selected.
We are very grateful for the award and will take these as inspiration to develop even more innovative natural cosmetic ingredients as one of the leading manufacturers in the field.

VeganProteoglycan successfully commercializes proteoglycans derived from the Ghattitree. The function of VeganProteoglycan is to significantly increase fibroblasts, which are the source of extracellular matrix production in the dermis, and to increase the amount of collagen.
