Swedish paperboard supplier Iggesund has unveiled a new whiter version of its luxury paperboard Invercote. According to Iggesund, the new Invercote offers the best whiteness stability on the paperboard market, along with improved printing properties, mechanical properties and higher purity. The increased whiteness stability is the result of a new additive, developed by Iggesund's in-house team, which delays the paperboard's ageing symptoms.
"Invercote was good but now we're the best in this respect," said Philippe Letzelter, Iggesund's development manager. "For the customer this means that his packaging or printed materials have a longer lifespan. For example, an expensive carton will still be attractive even after sitting on the retail shelf for a while."
Three products within the Invercote family now include the new properties: Invercote G, a solid bleached board with a smooth surface; Invercote Creato, a solid bleached board that offers outstanding aesthetic printing properties on both sides; and Invercote Duo, a medium density bleached board created by pasting Invercote G back-to-back, with a maximum thickness of 1010µm.
As part of the Invercote re-launch, Iggesund has enlisted Swedish pop star Ana Johnson, best known for Spiderman 2 theme We Are, to be the face of its glossy new advertising campaign.
The launch follows a €74m rebuild of one of Iggesund's two board machines, KM2, in the autumn of 2007.
