Japan’s CS Lab explores “wearable fragrance”
Tokyo’s CS Lab, an OEM contract manufacturer of cosmetics, is introducing a new, wearable fragrance format known as Fragrance Jewellery.
This is based on a lightweight, non-sticky silicone gel that can absorb and then slowly release perfumes. Since its first appearance in 2012, the technology for Fragrance Jewellery has been improved. According to the company, the new format is both easier to use and wear.
CS Lab envisages the gel being used to create popular ranges of costume jewellery, novelty as well as promotional products that gradually emit their fragrances when worn.
In tests last year, the original version of the product proved most successful when imbued with a floral scent. CS Lab has stated that its new version could also work successfully with a wide variety of the brand name fragrances popular in Japan.
