Kason Corporation has launched a new centrifugal screener with integral bag dump station and dust collector, which is claimed to protect the operator and plant environment against dust contamination.
The Centri-Sifter is said to remove bag scraps and other oversize contaminants from manually dumped bulk materials. It is configured for installation on a mezzanine; the system can be gravity-discharged into process equipment, and features a low deck height to enable operators to dump sacks and other containers.
The screener works by drawing ambient air and dust from dumping activities onto the exterior of two cartridge filters that derive vacuum from a top-mounted exhaust fan. Dust that accumulates on the filter is dislodged by overcoming continuous negative pressure within the cartridge filters, with positive pressure introduced in short blasts on a timed cycle by pulse jet nozzles. The dislodged material then falls onto the screener, while negative pressure collects any dust generated by the filter cleansing operation.
