New deodorants start-up, Keep It Kind, has achieved a spray of success in a market dominated by multinationals, as Chris McLeod reports
The tween, teen and naturals markets have all recently been a focus for the cosmetics industry due to the popularity, demand and prominence found by both consumers and experts alike in these areas.
Over the last two years, Keep It Kind, created by the Kind2Skin limited company, has amalgamated all of these modern demands to solely focus on producing deodorants containing naturally based ingredients that provide effective odour protection for the pre-teen and early teenage groups. In late 2011, Keep It Kind was founded by husband and wife duo Michael and Roberta Harris, alongside Marketing Director Andrew Roberts, who worked together to find a solution to a real life problem.
Answering a need
Roberta tells ECM that her granddaughter was experiencing the onset of puberty and as a result was experiencing body odour. Roberta and Michael’s daughter told them that she was having difficulties finding a suitable deodorant product for kids that provided body odour protection but didn’t contain any aluminium.
