L’Oréal creates Scientific Advisory Board
Move is said to help the company “better understand today’s dramatic development of science and technology”
L’Oréal has created a Scientific Advisory Board in a bid to “better understand today’s dramatic development of science and technology”. The board will be made up of nine scientists who will meet twice a year presided by Jacques Leclaire, Scientific Director at L’Oréal Research and Innovation.
Board members include Bonnie Bassler, Professor of Molecular Biology at Princeton University, Thomas Bieber, Professor of Dermatology and Allergy at the University of Bonn, Vanderlan de Silva Bolzani, Professor at the Institute of Chemistry São Paulo State University, and Elaine Fuchs, Professor of Cell Biology and Development at Rockefeller University. Finally, there’s also Nina Jablonski from Pennsylvania State University, Dominique Langevin of the University of Paris-Sud, Samir Mitragotri from the University of California, Jun Wang of the University of Copenhagen, and René Wijffels of Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
“The establishment of a Scientific Advisory Board is essential and is a first for L’Oréal. It is essential because science is the basis of all our innovations. In a rapidly changing world, the board’s reflexions will contribute to strengthening the link between science and beauty worldwide, and as such will be an extraordinary source of inspiration and guidance for L’Oréal,” said Laurent Attal, Executive Vice President Research and Innovation of L’Oréal.
