French luxury brand Lancôme has unveiled a new flagship store in Paris.

The L'Oréal-owned cosmetics brand has closed its ‘Lancôme Institute’ shop on 9 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré to open a larger home on tourist hotspot Champs-Elysées.

Store designers were tasked with creating a space that channels “Lancôme's world of happiness” across two floors.

Central to the location is an exhibition space, with a triple height ceiling that will change five times a year and is currently decorated with hanging rose petal ornaments.

Visitors can also discover professional services, personalisation options and consultation areas.

Françoise Lehmann, Global President of Lancôme, hopes the store will become a tourist destination in its own right.

“Lancôme expresses its grandeur, as the number one luxury beauty brand in the world, bringing happiness to life with a heart that beats with beauty,” she said.

“Most importantly of all we want them to leave feeling happy.

“We want this flagship to become a ‘must-see’ and an iconic beauty address for Parisians and tourists of the world alike.”

Lancôme has ramped up its bricks-and-mortar presence in recent months, particularly via travel retail.

In September it opened its first permanent travel retail store in Beijing Capital International Airport and a pop-up at Los Angeles International Airport to promote its Idole fragrance.
