L’Oréal Travel Retail has partnered with global travel experience retailer Avolta to scale sustainability practices and refillable fragrance formats at its international travel hubs.
The French beauty giant’s travel retail arm has formalised a joint Sustainability-Linked Business Plan with Avolta, which focuses on expanding refillable beauty formats, lowering supply chain emissions and scaling circular solutions at travel hubs.
This operational roadmap is targeting 10% in refill solutions by 2030 across L’Oréal’s core fragrance categories.
This is in response to market data, cited by L’Oréal Travel Retail, which shows that 80% of Gen Z shoppers are looking for sustainable beauty products in Duty Free.
Tickets are now available for the 25th anniversary of the Pure Beauty Awards, taking place on 15 October 2026 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, UK. Join the beauty industry for an evening of recognition and celebration as this year’s winners are revealed. Click here to secure your place.
The Sustainability-Linked Business Plan will also see L’Oréal Travel Retail work to lower transport-related impact through low emission transport modes and optimised truckload capacity.
Dedicated Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) training modules will also be rolled out for frontline beauty advisors at its international travel hubs.
"Together with Avolta, we are translating shared sustainability commitments into measurable operational steps, expanding refillable beauty and lowering our logistics footprint across key travel hubs,” said Eva Yu, President, L’Oréal Travel Retail.
Avolta is a global travel experience retailer which operates across airports, motorways, cruises and rail hubs.
The company combines travel retail and food and beverage (F&B).
L’Oréal Travel Retail signed the Sustainability-Linked Business Plan agreement with Avolta at TFWA World Exhibition & Conference 2026 in Cannes, France, a global summit for the duty-free and travel retail industry.
