Lush has announced its next big brand collaboration – a limited-edition range with Sanrio’s Hello Kitty character.
The Hello Kitty & Friends product range is designed to celebrate the themes of friendship and self-care, and launched exclusively via the Lush app on 7 April, debuting in-store and online from 10 April.
The UK beauty brand has reported phenomenal retail sales from its licensed partnerships in the past, which have included Super Mario, Barbie and Spongebob Square Pants collaborations.
The partnership was driven by customer demand, with Lush noting that Sanrio topped the list of most-requested collaborations when the brand canvassed feedback from its staff and community.
“Life is sweeter with friends,” said Lush in a statement referencing the collection’s core theme of friendship and shared experiences.
The range includes a selection of bath bombs, shower gels, a soap, perfume and bubble bar, each inspired by Sanrio characters, including Hello Kitty, My Melody, Cinnamoroll and Kuromi.
Prices range from £6.00 for individual bath bombs to £30.00 for the fragrance.
Hero products include Hello Kitty Bath Bomb, formulated with illipe butter and topped with a bath melt bow; and Cinnamoroll Bath Bomb, scented with almond oil, vanilla absolute and cinnamon leaf oil.
Kuromi Bath Bomb features a cherry-almond fragrance and adds a black shimmer effect to bathwater.
The range also introduces a multi-size Hello Kitty &Friends Shower Gel, combining the brand’s hero Snow Fairy and Milky Bath scents, as well as the Friendship Cake Soap made with tangerine and orange oils, murumuru butter and organic agave syrup.
Lush has a history of creating limited-edition collaborations aimed at driving engagement across its global fanbase, often drawing on pop culture icons.
The brand said the partnership with Sanrio was intended to reflect the spirit of “sharing and caring”, aligning with both companies’ brand identities.
All products in the range are handmade, cruelty-free and follow Lush’s standard ethical sourcing and packaging practices.
The Hello Kitty & Friends collection is available for a limited time across Lush’s retail and digital channels.
