Young joins the beauty retail giant from skin care brand Tatcha, and will oversee Ulta Beauty’s fragrance, make-up and private label

Ulta Beauty has named Mia Young as its SVP Cosmetics.

In the role, reported to begin 5 January, Young will oversee fragrance, make-up and private label for the US beauty retailer.

Young will help to drive the company’s merchandising strategy, launching, building, scaling and globalising brands.

In a LinkedIn post, Young shared: “I am thrilled to join Ulta and contribute to the team’s efforts in driving growth and impact. Thank you for the opportunity to be part of this exciting journey.”

Young joined Ulta Beauty from Unilever-owned Tatcha, where she was CCO for more than a  year.

Prior to that, Young worked in the same role for Hourglass, another brand under Unilever's Prestige umbrella.

Young joins the team following a strong year for Ulta Beauty, in which the retailer acquired UK high street beauty chain Space NK and reported a double-digit sales boom for Q3.

Ulta Beauty named Christopher DelOrefice as Chief Financial Officer in October.

DelOrefice commenced his role earlier this month.
