Grace, a young African woman with chalk-white skin, reddish eyes and blonde hair, is walking to work. Beneath the glare of the East African sun, she wears long sleeves and a broad-brimmed hat to protect her skin. Grace has albinism – a genetic disorder that is characterised by a deficit in melanin production.
