Shiseido-owned beauty brand Clé de Peau Beauté has partnered with BAFTA and Golden Globe nominated actress Zhang Ziyi as its Global Brand Ambassador.

The 39-year-old Chinese actress kicked off her film career in 1999 with The Road Home and rose to fame for her role in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, which received ten Academy Award nominations.

Since then, Ziyi has appeared in a range of critically acclaimed works, including Memoirs of a Geisha, House of Flying Daggers and The Grandmaster, for which she earned 12 Best Actress awards – making her the most awarded actress for a single award.

For Clé de Peau Beauté she will feature in the brand’s new campaign premiering this autumn representing La Crème, the brand’s hero product.

“We have long admired Zhang Ziyi for her accomplishments and her dedication,” said Yukari Suzuki, Chief Brand Officer for Clé de Peau.

“Zhang Ziyi perfectly embodies the values of Clé de Peay Beauté because of her spirit and timeless elegance.”

The brand previously partnered with UK actress Felicity Jones for its Lipstick Cashmere range.

Brand Director of Clé de Peau Beauté China, Jenny Sun, said: “Our collaboration with Zhang Ziyi will elevate the awareness and aspirational status of Clé de Peau Beauté in the China market.

“It will help to further establish the quality and luxury that Clé de Peau Beauté and La Crème are already known for.”

Meanwhile Ziyi added: “I’m delighted to be the Global Brand Ambassador for Clé de Peau Beauté and to represent La Crème, an object of desire that is exquisite and modern. I’m proud to be part of bringing this energy to the world.”
