Shoppers will be able to choose from more than 100 plastic-free products at three UK stores

Lush has launched a cosmetic conveyor belt for its Liverpool, Birmingham and Oxford Street stores, UK.

As part of the gifting service feature, customers are invited to choose plastic-free products from the belt, which will then be wrapped in a Lush Knot Wrap, the brand’s alternative to wrapping paper.

In store, the conveyor belts range from three to 14 metres and have up to 106 Christmas bath products to choose from.

These include festive-themed bath bombs, lip scrubs, shower gels, make-up products and body lotions.

Shoppers will also be able to choose from 13 wrap designs.

According to Lush, by using upcycled and recycled paper in the UK gift range from 2017-2018 it was able to save more than 12,500 trees from 400 acres of land and the equivalent of 3,600 tonnes of CO² emissions.

For the festive period, the brand is also inviting customers to explore the recycled and organic materials in making its gift packaging.

Commenting on the new gifting services, Suzie Hackney, from Lush’s Creative Direction team, said: “Customers have an abundance of ways to gift with us.

“Everything is special, whatever you choose and a lot of thought has gone into each item.”

While the conveyor belt style is new to Lush, this is not the first time a beauty brand has channeled this in-store concept.

In 2016, LVMH-owned beauty brand Make Up For Ever launched its ‘sushi bar’ at Debenhams’ Oxford Street store.
