Using the company's YouCam technology, the Live Casting For Web service allows consumers to virtually try-on cosmetics and offer brands real time feedback on products
Perfect Corp, the beauty tech company behind the YouCam Makeup app, has launched an interactive augmented reality (AR) live streaming solution in a bid to help beauty brands further engage with consumers digitally.
The company's AR Live Casting for Web service lets brands host interactive live streams on their websites using the YouCam AR try-on technology, which allows consumers to virtually try-on cosmetics during shows such as make-up tutorials and product spotlights.
Consumers can interact directly with brands in real time with the options to shop, try-on and ask questions about products and looks, while brands will benefit from immediate consumer insights and feedback about new product offerings and styles, according to Perfect Corp.
Alice Chang, founder and CEO of Perfect Corp, said: “As our world continues to lean on digital connections, we are excited to introduce YouCam’s newest AR Live Casting for Web, as a way for brands to enhance their website experience through interactive live stream broadcasting.
“The live stream web service gives brands an opportunity to connect with shoppers in an entirely new way, introducing an experiential and engaging component to the online shopping experience.”
The launch comes as many beauty brands are ramping up their digital presence with live streams and video consultations, in an effort to stay connected with consumers amid the coronavirus pandemic that has forced physical store closures.
Earlier this year, Perfect Corp partnered with make-up brand Make Up For Ever to launch a virtual Shade Finder, helping consumers find their ideal foundation shade match for their skin tone.
Meanwhile, the company also launched an AR training platform to help beauty brands and retailers adjust to working remotely due to Covid-19 by offering weekly online meetings.
