MAC and Ulta Salon in demand with teens

After surveying 9,400 US teenagers with an average age of 16, Piper Jaffray has uncovered the habits of today’s teens.

Teens now spend more time watching Netflix and YouTube than traditional media outlets, spending 38% of their time on Netflix, 29% watching TV and 21% watching YouTube videos.

The most popular beauty brands for today’s teens were MAC, Maybelline, Ulta Salon, CoverGirl, Bare Escentuals and Urban Decay. Their favourite places to shop online were Amazon (38%), eBay (4%), Forever 21 (3%) and Urban Outfitters (3%).
