P&G still the one to beat at 2009 Product of the Year Awards

When it came to C&T, consumer brands giant Procter & Gamble dominated at last night’s 2009 Product of the Year Awards.


When it came to C&T, consumer brands giant Procter & Gamble dominated at last night’s 2009 Product of the Year Awards. P&G stable mates Nice’n Easy Perfect 10 and Pantene Pro-V Enhanced Layers Create and Hold Hairspray took the awards for hair colour and hair styling respectively, while Head & Shoulders Damage Rescue won the shampoo category.

Johnson & Johnson Limited also performed well, particularly in skin care taking the self tanning and facial care categories with Holiday Skin Lightglow Body Lotion and 3in1 Dreamy Skin Facial Cleansing Wipes. Sanex Natur Protect and Radox Shower Smoothies gained Sara Lee Household & Body Care UK Ltd awards for deodorant and body wash, while Reckitt Benckiser Plc scooped best body care with its E45 Endless moisture Body Range and best air freshener with Air Wick Aqua Essences.

Other C&T winners included Goldwell, whose Dualsenses 60sec Treatment won the hair care salon only category, L’Oréal UK, which took the eye care category with Garnier Nutritionist Caffeine Eye Roll On and Novartis Consumer Health UK Ltd, which won sun care with Savlon Aftersun Foam Spray. Finally, GlaxoSmithKline’s Aquafresh Iso-Active Foaming Gel took the award for oral care.

The ceremony took place in London’s Royal Opera House and the winners were announced by presenter and Yes Man author Danny Wallace. Attendees were also treated to a performance by Classical BRIT Award winners Blake.
