Puig CEO Jose Manuel Albesa (pictured) wants to transform the Spanish beauty company into a “global dermocosmetics champion”.
The beauty executive shared his thoughts on the importance of Puig carving its place in the burgeoning dermocosmetics category during the company’s Capital Markets Day 2026 in Madrid, Spain, on 28 October.
During the event, which outlined the giant’s strategic priorities for its next phase of growth, Albesa revealed that Puig wants to double the sales of its French dermocosmetic brand Uriage by 2032.
This growth will be based on expansion into higher value categories and a stronger presence in Europe and Latin America.
Plus, an accelerated e-commerce and “deeper partnerships” with major pharmacy and para-pharmacy groups.
The aim is to transform Uriage from “a regional champion into a global dermocosmetics leader”, added Marc Toulemonde, Puig’s President, Derma.
The global dermocosmetics market size was valued at US$47.9bn in 2025 and is projected to grow to $117bn by 2034, according to data from analyst Fortune Business Insights.
This increased focus on dermocosmetics also feeds into Puig’s larger strategy of exceeding €8bn in annual net revenues by 2032 and becoming a top four premium beauty company.
Puig’s upcoming acquisition of skin care brand Isdin, meanwhile, will also help develop the company as a global dermocosmetics player.
The beauty giant has agreed to take full ownership of Isdin from Corporación Químico-Farmacéutica Esteve (CQFE), with the brand becoming a key pillar in Puig’s dermocosmetics platform upon completion.
Isdin generated approximately €650m in revenues in 2025 and will be acquired by Puig in Q1 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.
On completion, Isdin, Uriage and [Greek natural skin and hair care brand] Apivita would form a dermocosmetics platform for Puig with more than €1bn in pro forma net revenues.
Puig said it will expand all its dermocosmetics brands “into new markets and channels, including specialist beauty, department stores, travel retail and digital platforms,” read a company statement.
