The main object of the Society is to advance the science of cosmetics. It endeavours to do this by attracting to its membership men and women with high scientific qualifications, and with experience both academically and industrially in cosmetics or related sciences, and by its activities, i.e. its publications, educational programmes and scientific meetings.

The SCS are currently in association with Cosmetics Business and SPC providing exclusive benefits to SCS Members.
