Adria Arjona has been named brand ambassador for hair care brand Moroccanoil’s debut perfume.
The American actress, who played Dorothy Gale in the Oz book adaptation Emerald City and Bix Caleen in the Star Wars spin-off Andor, will front the new L’Originale edp.
Fragrance notes include citrus and violet, which are paired with middle notes of vanilla and set against a base of musk, white sandalwood and amber.
“From the very beginning, our customer has been captivated by the signature fragrance in our hair and body products,” Carmen Tal, the brand’s co-founder, told WWD.
“That alone opens the door for us to consider the idea since it’s always been at the heart of our products.”
The new launch expands on the company’s hair and body fragrance mist lines, which are infused with argan oil, the brand’s Mediterranean-inspired signature scent.
Arjona, who was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, was previously ambassador for Armani’s My Way edp.
Armani’s fragrance offers a blend of orange blossom and bergamot, combined with tuberose, Indian jasmine and base notes of Madagascan vanilla, white musk and cedar.
Commenting on the Moroccanoil scent, Arjona told WWD: “I’ve loved the brand’s luxurious quality for years.
“The partnership was a natural fit. Moroccanoil has been a brand I have used forever, from their iconic Moroccanoil treatment in my hair to nourishing my skin with their rich body offerings.”
Moroccanoil’s entry in fragrance follows the US prestige beauty market’s value reaching US$33.9bn in value in 2024.
This was largely fueled by the fragrance category, which saw sales increase by 12% during the year, according to the data from consumer insights firm Circana.
Demand for higher concentrations, such as parfums and edps also supported sales growth by 43% and 14%, respectively.
