Despite the looming debt crisis across Europe, the medical aesthetics sector has proven to be largely recession-proof based on consumer demand and continued growth. There has been an upsurge in volumising with combinations of dermal fillers, skin tightening with energy based systems, non-surgical body shaping, fat grafting, growth factors, stem cells and platelet rich plasma (PRP). The emphasis is on less invasive, quick fix style treatments and branded procedures marketed directly to consumers, such as the ‘quick lift’ or ‘vampire facelift’.
