AS Watson Group has named Clarice Au as CEO of its retail division in Hong Kong.

Au will be responsible for overseeing the management of the company’s health and beauty brand Watsons, along with PARKnSHOP, Fortress and Watson’s Wine.

Her appointment is effective from 1 March 2025.

Au joined the Superdrug-owner in 1998 and worked in several management roles including airport retail and more recently overseeing the business’ MoneyBack loyalty programme.

“These experiences have shaped my passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and fostering innovation,” said Au.

“Looking ahead, my priority will be to build on our strong business foundation while harnessing the talents of our combined teams, as well as close collaboration with our business partners to elevate the customer experience across our network of over 500 O+O stores.

“As Hong Kong’s retail landscape evolves rapidly, it is essential for us to remain agile and continuously embrace transformation to seize new opportunities and stay ahead.”

It follows AS Watson naming Clare Jennings as its new Property Director in January.

Jennings will succeed Nigel Duxbury, who is set to retire on 2 May after two decades with the business.

AS Watson also appointed Malina Ngai as its Group CEO in 2024.

Ngai, who was Group Chief Operating Officer of AS Watson and CEO of AS Watson Asia & Europe, took the reins from 1 May.

Ngai succeeded Dominic Lai, Group Co-Managing Director of CK Hutchison and Group Managing Director of AS Watson, who stepped down after 17 years.
