Jade Jackson née Morrison is Head of Trading, Cosmetics, at Superdrug – on of the UK's most popular beauty retailers. 

She is responsible for driving market-leading performance at the high street chain, with skills in negotiation, brand management, sales and Retail.

Here, Morrison charts her career journey and how she landed a coveted job in the beauty industry, while also sharing the essential skills a cosmetics industry professional needs to possess to suceed.

Tell us about your first job in beauty?

Straight out of university, my first job in beauty was at UK high street retailer Superdrug.

I joined as an Executive Assistant and was given the opportunity to rotate across different functions, including HR, marketing and buying.

I briefly sidestepped into consumer electronics, which made me realise just how much I loved beauty.

I then moved back into the industry and eventually returned to Superdrug eight years ago, after undertaking some roles elsewhere, including at beauty giant Coty.
