The initiative has been running since 2008 and gives beauty tips to consumers suffering with hair loss and skin care problems due to cancer treatment

South Korean cosmetics conglomerate Amorepacific has taken its Makeup Your Life campaign for cancer patients online.

Prior to the pandemic, Amorepacific had been visiting cancer patients in hospitals to offer beauty solutions and tips for patients who have lost their hair and are suffering from skin issues as a result of cancer treatment.

But new social distancing rules in the country have meant volunteers have been unable to visit patients in hospital.

This year’s online campaign will run through Kakao Talk, one of Korea’s largest social media networks, with content featuring tips on how to wear make-up with a face mask as well as Q&A sessions for patients.

According to the company, more than 850 Korean cancer patients have taken part in the programme since the start of the year.

The campaign has also been live-streamed in China through the country’s social media platform Kuaishou.

Since its launch in 2008, the campaign has also expanded into Thailand and Singapore.
