The deal will see the Cool Water fragrance maker grow its portfolio and expand into new markets

Davidoff, the Swiss luxury cigar brand, has renewed its fragrance licensing agreement with Coty.

The partnership, extending beyond 20 years, is said to enable Davidoff to further develop its hero Cool Water fragrance, as well as extending its range, and expand into new markets globally.

Coty also hopes the renewal will strengthen its market position as a holder of premium fragrance brands, with its portfolio including Gucci, Chloe and Calvin Klein.

“We are delighted to renew our highly successful, long standing partnership with Davidoff,” said Sue Nabi, Coty’s CEO.

“It is a relationship which began in the 1980s and has produced some of the industry’s most iconic scents – from Zino Davidoff to Davidoff Cool Water.

“The significant extension of our agreement represents a deepening of our partnership and lays the foundation for innovation to drive the next phase of growth, built on trust and shared values of diversity and inclusion.”

The deal follows Coty’s renewal of its fragrance partnership with fashion brand Jil Sander, which is set to see the brand enter the global ultra-premium fragrances segment for the first time.

Meanwhile, the conglomerate has also extended its long standing partnership with fashion and fragrance brand Hugo Boss, until at least 2035.

Founded in 1980 by Zino Davidoff, the family-owned brand’s portfolio includes a range of luxury goods including fashion, drinks, writing instruments and leather goods as well as its fragrance line.

In addition to its hero Cool Water range, Davidoff’s fragrance offering includes Hot Water, Adventure and The Game.
