L'Oréal increases instrumental skin care investment

L'Oréal has signed a collaboration agreement with Light Bioscience of the US to develop "skin care equipment" using technologies developed by the American group. The agreement envisages global commercialisation by L'Oréal of so-called instrumental cosmetics for professional use to treat the signs of ageing. Light BioScience has developed equipment using diodes which stimulate the skin using a low-energy light allowing skin quality to be improved and wrinkles to be reduced.

The French company says that instrumental cosmetics covers massage, hair removal, treatment of cellulite and hair growth promotion together with equipment "emitting electromagnetic waves" used for rejuvenating the skin.
