Users can choose from 12 different digital looks powered by ModiFace AI technology

Maybelline has unveiled its first-ever virtual make-up looks on video platform Microsoft Teams.

Users can now choose from 12 different make-up looks from the L’Oréal-owned brand – which recently went viral with its London underground advert – that will be applied to their faces during Teams calls.

The new feature aims to give users greater self-confidence in their meetings, as well as providing an easy way for them to try out make-up looks they may not have otherwise, according to Maybelline.

Consumers will also be able to view the Maybelline products and shades used for each of the looks to allow them to recreate it in real life, using the AI-powered technology from beauty tech provider ModiFace.

"Whether you are working in-person or virtually, feeling good about yourself can help put your best foot forward," said Trisha Ayyagari, Maybelline’s Global Brand President.

"That's why we partnered with Microsoft Teams to develop virtual make-up looks – now even on the busiest day, you can put make-up on with just a click.

“We hope we make people's lives a little easier."

Maybelline has increasingly invested in its digital and AI capabilities, unveiling its first-ever virtual brand ambassador last year.

Parent company L’Oréal has also harnessed ModiFace’s virtual try-on technology for a number of its brands, including bringing AI skin consultations for its L’Oreal Paris and Garnier brands to Sainsbury’s.

The virtual make-up looks are available now for customers with a Microsoft Teams enterprise licence.
