As consumers continue to self-isolate in the wake of the covid-19 pandemic, beauty retailer Superdrug has put into gear a new same-day delivery service.
UK shoppers living within an eight mile radius of one of Superdrug's 300 stores will be able to purchase supplies through superdrug.com.
Superdurg’s E-commerce Director Matt Walburn explained that the idea was a progression the business has always wanted to make, but was brought forward due to the pandemic.
“The courier service is something that has been in development a while," he said.
“We’ve brought it forward urgently to help those customers who are social distancing, from visiting stores at the moment and who might be in need of essential supplies quickly.”
Superdrug customers can also access the retailer’s Online Doctor platform to receive their prescriptions, either via click and collect or delivery.
“We are absolutely prioritising our online service during this time, to help reduce the number of visits customers need to make to a physical store,” continued Walburn.
“Our teams are working hard to ensure as many people as possible are able to receive their health care and essential items at home.”
To safeguard employees and consumers, the retailer has implemented a number of in-store safety measures.
