With Rhode leading the trend on TikTok, sales of lip treatments are soaring by double digits, with peptides remaining the ingredient heroes to enhance fullness

Place a bet on which segment within facial skin care is growing the fastest.

The usual suspects would be serums, possibly cleansers, with toners and mists inching closer still.

But over the past year, lip treatments have taken the trophy, according to new data from Circana that reveals value growth of 48% across Europe in 2024, and even more impressive growth of 69% in the UK specifically.

The boom reflects the wider focus on lip products across make-up, with lip oils, balms and lip liners all seeing strong uptake among consumers over the past couple of years. But it’s also indicative of wider trends in the aesthetic and skin care space.

Michelle Grayson, Head of Operations at beauty brand consultancy The Red Tree explains: “As consumers have become increasingly educated about skin care ingredients and are extending their sophisticated skin care routines to their lips, they are now moving beyond basic moisturising to seek more advanced, treatment-focused products.”
