Record number of participants at MakeUp in New York
Over 1,000 participants attend the show
1036 exactly! This is the number of participants to the second edition of MakeUp in New York, which took place last week for two days, two blocks from the famous Madison Square Garden. Alike its first edition, in addition to this excellent figure in terms of participants which rose sharply (+50%), the quality of visitorship was also the one expected.
"A trade show where business was really part of the event with high profile decision makers," we could hear here and there among the stands. So much so that many exhibitors had barely time to complete an appointment that another one was planned for them just after. All this in the extremely convivial atmosphere provided by the place.
This 2012 edition was taking place on three levels, one more than the previous year, also representing 50% extra surface area. Far from being a handicap, the flow of visitors was very evenly distributed between the different floors. And icing on the cake, sunshine was also part of the show for the whole week in New York enabling visitors and exhibitors to enjoy the terrace available on the last level of Studio 450.
Another first for this new edition of MakeUp in New York in 2012 were the conferences taking place at the heart of the event. Three main issues were addressed during these debates: "Do major make-up trends in Europe have an influence on the North American ones and vice versa?", " Why is the Full-Service offer an underlying trend and how far will it go?", "Make-Up Artist and make-up Innovation, a winning complicity". The room planned for this purpose was packed during the two days with more than 250 attendees.
Same enthusiasm for "make-up" demos performed by renowned Makeup Artist which took place virtually nonstop from Wednesday morning, 10 am to Thursday afternoon 4:30 pm. Visitors also flocked around the animation poles and were able to measure the talent of Shana King, Jody Formica, Michele Burke and Eve Pearl. Further proof, if needed, of the attractiveness of MakeUp in New York, professionals attending the event were coming from every corner of the American continent. The first statistics show that visitors came both from the east coast of the United States but also from Mexico, Canada and several countries in South America. MakeUp in New York takes full advantage of its specificity as a event exclusively focused on make-up, a unique characteristic shared on the European continent by its sister event, MakeUp in Paris.
