Lucas Meyer Cosmetics’ Immunight active ingredient and emulsifier Emulium Dermolea MB from Gattefossé take gold at the Bangkok trade event

Immunight, a sleep beauty active ingredient from Lucas Meyer Cosmetics, and emulsifier Emulium Dermolea MB from Gattefossé have scooped gold awards at in-cosmetics Asia.

The ingredients were recognised as part of the Bangkok, Thailand trade event, running 7 to 9 November at the city’s BITEC venue.

Immunight is a green-processed, oil-soluble lavandin extract, designed to reduce the effects of poor-quality sleep on skin by boosting night time skin recovery and targeting the improvement of sleep quality via the inhalation of olfactory compounds.

It won top prize in the Innovation Zone Best Active Ingredient category during a ceremony on 8 November.

The winner of the Innovation Zone Best Functional Ingredient award, Emulium Dermolea MB, meanwhile, is a plant-based oil-in-water (o/w) emulsifier which offers a unique lipidic composition that is rich in sterols and triterpenes to reduce skin stress and bring long-term soothing.

Skin improvement ingredients dominated elsewhere.

In the active segment Codif scooped silver with Regetaste, an anti-ageing epidermal ingredient that improves skin texture and brightness, and bronze went to Rahn for Perfeline, developed to strengthen the micro-vessels in human skin.

For functional ingredients, IOI Oleo won silver for Softisan MagicPowder S, a water-resistant and water binding vegan film-former, providing a barrier protecting effect.

Bronze in this category went to Elementis for Bentone Plus Glow, which combines natural ingredients to impart rheological control and suspension to the oil phase of cosmetics and skin care products, and also promotes the skin’s barrier function.
