Longevity was always set to be a key focus at in-cosmetics Global 2026, which took place on 14-16 April in Paris, but there was seemingly no limit to the themes and trends emerging from the world’s biggest beauty ingredients event.
Performance and efficacy – and the evidence to prove it – was at the heart of new developments, whether they were for the face, body or the hair and scalp.
Numerous launches were exploring the potential of biotechnology; upcycled actives were everywhere; and many of the ingredient breakthroughs on show had been discovered through AI.
At Givaudan Active Beauty, visitors could even experience artificial intelligence (AI)-powered activations, through its partnership with Haut.AI, to view how their skin would look over time both with and without the new active it was showcasing, PrimalHyal NeuroYouth.
What was clear is that the industry places no limit on the types of innovations possible today.
There is genuine excitement about the latest discoveries and what is yet to come.
As Evonik’s Global Head of Marketing, Cosmetic Solutions Dr. Yilei Fu told Cosmetics Business: “The best, the most important part about innovation is to stay curious. And we're just at the starting point. It's important to believe that we can do better in terms of sustainability, be more effective and provide better solutions to consumers and customers.”
