Unilever has named US soccer player Clint Dempsey as its new Brand Ambassador ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026.
Dempsey, who started his career in 2004 after being drafted by the New England Revolution, will front new gift packs from Unilever “power brands” Dove Men+Care, Degree and Axe.
With each purchase, fans can enter for a chance to win FIFA World Cup 2026 tickets through 15 June 2026.
Dempsey is the first American male player to score in three FIFA World Cups.
The partnership forms part of the consumer giant’s ongoing sponsorship with FIFA, which spans men's, women's and e-sports competitions.
"When you feel fresh, you play better – simple as that," said Dempsey.
"That rush of confidence sticks with you long after the whistle blows; it is what helps me show up every day.
“That is why I'm excited to partner with Unilever to help fans experience that same confidence in their own everyday routines."
Dempsey’s appointment comes amid a strong year of football partnerships and collaborations across the beauty industry.
Earlier this year, Unilever-owned deodorant brand Rexona tapped Lioness footballer Lucy Bronze as an ambassador.
e.l.f. Cosmetics also bet big on the pitch via a partnership with Tottenham Hotspur Women.
Remington, meanwhile, tapped football pundit and Sky Sports regular Micah Richards to become the face of its Shave & Trim category.
More recently, L’Oréal Paris UK&I announced a new collaboration with England football midfielder Declan Rice in December.
This was built on an existing partnership between the brand and Rice’s home club, Arsenal
