EFSA promotes non-animal testing in expert paper

The European Food Safety Authority’s (EFSA) scientific committee has released a comprehensive paper detailing internationally recognised alternative methods to animal testing available for risk assessment for a range of industries, for instance acute toxicity, skin irritation and eye irritation testing. It says these “should be used in line with existing EU legislation”.
