Personalised perfume service could go permanent at French airport

Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport could permanently welcome a new personalised fragrance service to its Aelia duty free shops after a two month trial period.

The app-based service Perfumist helps consumers select the perfume that is best suited to them in two minutes.

Perfumist’s two month trial period will finish at the end of April and has already received positive feedback.

The app’s data base offers over 12,000 perfume with descriptions in over 24 languages and is able to select the top ten perfumes for each customer based on preferred notes, ingredients and price.

Aelia claims this is a valuable time saver for passengers and gives them the opportunity to explore a greater palette of scents.

Lagardère Travel Retail is part of the Lagardère Group the brand responsible for developing the Perfumist service.

It operates in over 4,400 stores across Travel Essentials, Duty Free and Foodservice in airports, railway stations and other concessions.

It currently operates in 34 countries and generates €4.5bn sales.
