Oriflame increases 2009 outlook after strong Q1 sales

Oriflame has raised its outlook for sales this year following the release of its first quarter results. The Swedish direct sales brand experienced a 21% rise in sales in local currencies, an increase of 6% in Euros to €341.3m. According to Oriflame, the company’s sound financial performance was due to a 19% increase in the average size of its sales force, which now stands at 3.4 million consultants and a 3% increase in productivity.

According to Oriflame, the company’s sound financial performance was due to a 19% increase in the average size of its sales force, which now stands at 3.4 million consultants and a 3% increase in productivity.

In response, Oriflame has increased its sales outlook to around 11% in local currencies. “We are increasing our outlook for sales this year but we do not expect sales growth for the rest of the year to be as strong as for the first quarter,” commented ceo Magnus Brännström.
