A Paris court has ordered US internet group e-Bay to pay €80,000 to the luxury products group LVMH for having used the names of a number of LVMH group branded perfumes without authorisation. The brands involved are Christian Dior, Givenchy, Kenzo and Guerlain.
The US company will have to pay the fine as a form of reparation and to cease activity in this direction. The e-Bay operation was ordered to pay over €38m in damages to LVMH in June last year for alleged counterfeiting and illicit sales. The group appealed against the judgement.
